A word regarding the aid to the victims of the Tohoku Earthquake On March 11th Japan was hit by an earthquake without precedents in its recorded history. The loss of lives is tremendous. We would like to offer the families of the deseased our heartfelt condolences. And at the same time, extend our deepest sympathy to the people hit by this disaster. On this occasion, the entire staff of Liquor Mountain join together to support the victims. Our actions will be as follow: Donation in Cash: To finance aid to the main areas hit by the tragedy, the prefectures of Miyagi, Iwate, Fukushima, Aomori and Ibaragi, we have contributed a donation of the amount as shown below to the Japanese Red Cross: Liquor Mountain CO., LTD: Total JPY 10,000,000 Contribution to the fund raising campain: In an effort to raise money to support the most severely stricken areas, Liquor Mountain has set collection boxes at checkout in its 105 stores. Liquor Mountain undertakes to deposit the funds raised to the areas suffering from the disaster. Cutdown on electricity consumption In an effort to reduce energy consumption, since March 13th, Liquor Mountain's 105 shops and facilities have been striving to turn off all equipment that is not essential to their running. 1. Reduction of the number of lights in the shops 2. Reduction of the use of air conditioning (whereas possible) We wish people in stricken prefectures, much stamina and strength to make it through a very difficult time. Also we wish areas hit by the disaster recover quickly. |
